Kevin O'Toole was born on October 26, 1928 in Bolton, England. He joined the SVD in Hadzor on September 16, 1941. He entered the novitiate in Danamon C. on September 8, 1948. He professed first vows in Techny, USA on September 8, 1950. He made his final vows and priestly ordination in the same place on September 8, 1953 and August 15, 1954, respectively. His first assignment was to India, Indore. In 1966 he was transferred to the INS, in 1971 to England, in 1980 to USS, in 1981 to GBR, in 1997 to USC for the Caribbean, in 2009 he retired to his mother province IBP. He died in London on May 22, 2024.

Ambrose Thomas Rayappan was born in Kovitudur, India, on December 6, 1950. He joined the SVD and entered the novitiate in Khurda on June 16, 1971 and made first profession on June 9, 1973. He took perpetual vows on June 15, 1980 in Poona. He was ordained a priest on May 10, 1981 at Palani. His first missionary assignment was to INE where he dedicated his whole life to the mission. He died on May 8, 2024 in Kerla.

Joseph Bugner was born on February 2, 1935 in Buffalo Grove, USA. He joined the SVD in East Troy on September 7, 1949. He entered the novitiate on September 8, 1953 and made his first vows two years later, both in Techny. He made perpetual profession and was ordained to the priesthood in Techny on September 9, 1961 and February 2, 1963, respectively. His first missionary assignment was to PNG, where he dedicated 36 years of his life to the local mission communities. In 1999 he was transferred to USC where he spent the rest of his life, passing away on May 8, 2024 in Techny.

Joseph Bugner nació el 2 de febrero de 1935 en Buffalo Grove, EEUU. Ingresó en la SVD en East Troy el 7 de septiembre de 1949. Entró en el noviciado el 8 de septiembre de 1953 e hizo sus primeros votos dos años más tarde, ambos en Techny. Hizo la profesión perpetua y fue ordenado sacerdote también en Techny, el 9 de septiembre de 1961 y el 2 de febrero de 1963, respectivamente. Anthony Rebello, a native of Fatorda, Goa, was born in Nairobi, Kenya, on March 18, 1950. He entered the Society of the Divine Word in 1969 and completed his novitiate in Khurda, Madhya Pradesh, India. He professed first and final vows in Poona on June 10, 1971, and June 13, 1976, respectively. He was ordained a priest in Raia on May 10, 1977. His first missionary assignment was to INS, in 1981 he was transferred to BOT, in 1987 to USC, in 1989 to ANG, in 2002 to BOT. On July 5, 2021, he was appointed Bishop of Francistown, Botswana. He died on May 4, 2024, in Tonota, Botswana.

Justino Wong was born on September 22, 1935 in Colón, Panama. He entered the SVD in September 1961 in Miramar, USA. He entered the novitiate in Conesus on September 8, 1962 and professed first vows one year later. He made final profession in Techny on September 8, 1968, and was ordained a priest in Panama City on August 6, 1969. His first missionary assignment was to SIN, in 1974 he was transferred to MEX, in 1992 to COL (for PAN), in 1993 to MEX, in 2002 to SWI, in 2006 to CAM. He died on May 3, 2024 in Panama City.

Justino Wong nació el 22 de septiembre de 1935 en Colón, Panamá. Ingresó en la SVD en septiembre de 1961 en Miramar, EEUU. Ingresó en el noviciado de Conesus el 8 de septiembre de 1962 y emitió los primeros votos un año después. Henry Dunk was born on July 22, 1928 in Breda, The Netherlands. He joined the SVD in Teteringen on November 5, 1951. He entered the novitiate on May 4, 1952, and made first profession two years later on May 9, 1954, followed by final vows on May 1, 1960, in Deume. His first missionary assignment was to India (Indore, later INC). In 2002 he was transferred to NEB. He died on May 2, 2024 in Teteringen, Netherlands.

Henry Dunk nació el 22 de julio de 1928 en Breda (Países Bajos). Ingresó en la SVD en Teteringen el 5 de noviembre de 1951. Dominic Kwaku Asare was born on August 29, 1958 in Kwahu-Praso, Ghana. He entered the SVD in Tamale on November 12, 1982. He entered the novitiate at Nikwatia on September 15, 1985, culminating with first vows on September 8, 1985 at Kukurantumi. He made perpetual profession on September 8, 1990 in Nikwatia. He received priestly ordination on September 17, 1991 in Kukurantumi. His first missionary assignment was to Paraguay, in 2012 he was transferred to the USW. He died on April 30, 2024 in San Diego (USW).

Thomas Kuzhipathalil was born on May 8, 1936 in Kadayanikadu, India. He joined the SVD in Palda on June 22, 1956. He professed perpetual vows on May 29, 1967 in Poona and was ordained a priest on September 16, 1967 in Manimala. His first missionary assignment was to the Sambalpur Region (later INE) where he dedicated his life to the mission. He died in Rourkela (INE) on April 25, 2024.

Kazimierz Niezgoda was born on August 23, 1933 in Studzionka, Poland. He joined the SVD on August 27, 1947 in Nysa, where he entered the novitiate on September 8, 1952. He continued his formation in Pieniezno, where he made his first and final professions on September 8, 1954 and September 2, 1959, respectively. He was ordained a priest on January 31, 1960, likewise in Pieniezno. His first missionary assignment was to Papua New Guinea, where he dedicated his life to missionary work. He died on April 21, 2024 in Kundiawa, PNG.

Kazimierz Niezgoda nació el 23 de agosto de 1933 en Studzionka, Polonia. Ingresó en la SVD el 27 de agosto de 1947 en Nysa, donde entró en el noviciado el 8 de septiembre de 1952. Eddie Elliott was born in Dublin, Ireland on June 4, 1948. He joined the SVD in 1973 in Donamon C., where he began his novitiate on September 14, 1975, culminating with first vows on September 13, 1977. He professed final vows on September 14, 1981 and was ordained a priest on December 13, 1981. His first missionary assignment was to Mexico. There he dedicated his life to the mission. He died on April 12, 2024 in Actopan, Hidalgo.

Theodor Piechota was born on September 12, 1952 in Ledziny, Poland. He joined the SVD in Pieniezno, the place of his future missionary formation, on September 5, 1971. On the same day he began his novitiate, which culminated in his first vows on September 8, 1973. Four years later, on the same day, he made his final vows, and on April 2, 1978, he was ordained a priest. His first missionary assignment was to Ghana / Togo. It was in TOG that he dedicated his life to the mission. He died on April 7, 2024, in Minsk Mazowiecki, Poland.

Theodor Piechota nació el 12 de septiembre de 1952 en Ledziny, Polonia. Ingresó en la SVD en Pieniezno, lugar de su futura formación misionera, el 5 de septiembre de 1971. Motoi Gregorio Takeya was born on December 25, 1954 in Mishima, Japan. He joined the SVD in Nagoya on April 1, 1970, where he entered the novitiate on March 7, 1975, culminating with first vows on March 7, 1977. In Nagoya, the place of his missionary formation, he made his final vows on March 1, 1983 and was ordained a priest on March 17, 1984. His first missionary assignment was to JPN. In Japan he dedicated his whole life to the mission. He died on March 25, 2024, in Tajimi.

Motoi Gregorio Takeya nació el 25 de diciembre de 1954 en Mishima, Japón. Ingresó en la SVD en Nagoya el 1 de abril de 1970, allí entró en el noviciado el 7 de marzo de 1975, culminándolo con los primeros votos el 7 de marzo de 1977. En Nagoya, lugar de su formación misionera, hizo sus votos perpetuos el 1 de marzo de 1983 y fue ordenado sacerdote el 17 de marzo de 1984. Su primer destino misionero fue la JPN. Dennis Flynn was born in Manila, Philippines on September 2, 1933. He joined the SVD in Bordetown, USA on September 7, 1950. Two years later, on September 8, he entered the novitiate in Conesus and after two years he made his first vows (September 8). He did part of his missionary formation in the USA and continued it in the Philippines, where he made his final vows on June 2, 1960 in Manila and was ordained a priest on October 22, 1961 in Christ the King. His first missionary assignment was in the region of Mindoro, Philippines. He was also part of AUS (1982-1986), USS (1986-1996), USW (1996-2020) with assignments to PHC (2000-2004, 2018-2019). Finally, in 2020, he was transferred to USC for his retirement. He died on February 25, 2025 in Techny, USA.

Dennis Flynn nació en Manila, Filipinas, el 2 de septiembre de 1933. Ingresó en la SVD en Bordetown, EE.UU., el 7 de septiembre de 1950. Joachim Piepke was born on November 10, 1943 in Danzig, Germany. He joined the SVD in St. Gabriel on April 27, 1962, where he also did his novitiate, which began on April 30 and culminated two years later on May 1 with his first religious profession. His theological preparation for the mission took place in St. Augustin, Germany, where he made his perpetual vows (May 1, 1968) and his priestly ordination (April 19, 1969). Brazil (BRC) was his first missionary assignment. In 1982, he was transferred to Germany (GEN, which later became GER). He made an important contribution to the Anthropos Institute as its director (2001-2007, 2010-2013). His death was on February 24th, 2024, in St. Augustin, Germany.

Joachim Piepke nació el 10 de noviembre de 1943 en Danzig, Alemania. Ingresó en la SVD en San Gabriel el 27 de abril de 1962, donde también hizo el noviciado, el cual comenzó el 30 de abril y culminó dos años más tarde, el 1 de mayo, con su primera profesión religiosa. Jan Wróblewski was born on June 15, 1956 in Chorzów, Poland. He joined the SVD in Pieniężno (the place of his future missionary formation) on September 2, 1975. On September 7, he entered the novitiate, which culminated in the first vows on September 8, 1977. He made final vows on September 8, 1981, and was ordained a priest on April 18, 1982, all in Pieniężno. His first missionary assignment was to POL. In 1987 he got permission for missionary experience in Ghana. From 1998 to 2004 he was the Rector of the Mission Seminary in Pieniężno. After that, he worked in administration as Rector of different communities, also he was a Vice-Provincial of POL. He was known as a preacher of missions and spiritual retreats. He died in Sosnowiec on February 22, 2024.

Jan Wróblewski nació el 15 de junio de 1956 en Chorzów, Polonia. Ingresó en la SVD en Pieniężno (lugar de su futura formación misionera) el 2 de septiembre de 1975. El 7 de septiembre comenzó el noviciado, culminado con los primeros votos el 8 de septiembre de 1977. En 1987 obtuvo permiso para realizar una experiencia misionera en Ghana. De 1998 a 2004 fue rector del Seminario Misionero de Pieniężno. Después trabajó en la administración como rector de diferentes comunidades, también fue viceprovincial de POL. Era conocido como predicador de misiones y retiros espirituales. Murió en Sosnowiec el 22 de febrero de 2024.

Remigius Ceme was born in Kotapau-Nagekeo, Indonesia, on October 1, 1962. He joined the SVD in Ledalero, the place of his future missionary formation, on July 31, 1982. The next day he entered the novitiate, which culminated with the first vows on August 1, 1984. He made his final profession on August 1, 1989. He was ordained a priest in Wolosambi on June 24, 1990. His missionary assignment was in IDE. Between 1998 and 2001 he stayed in Australia, in 2013 in Tagaytay (PHC). He died in Ledalero on February 18, 2024.

He made his perpetual vows on September 15, 1969 in Ledalero and his priestly ordination on May 21, 1970 in Uwa/Palue. His missionary assignment was to Indonesia Ruteng (IDR). In 170 he was transferred to IDE. He died on February 17, 2024.

Yohanes Lobi nació el 19 de abril de 1941 en Wetakara, Indonesia. Ingresó en la SVD en Ledalero (lugar de su futura formación misionera) el 15 de septiembre de 1961, el mismo día en que comenzó su noviciado. Hace su primera profesión el 21 de septiembre de 1963. Robert Fisher was born in Caruthersville, USA on February 6, 1937. He joined the SVD in Techny, the place of his future religious formation, on September 8, 1951. He began his novitiate there on September 8, 1955, and took his first vows two years later. He made his perpetual profession on September 8, 1963, and was ordained a priest on January 9, 1965, also in Techny. After his ordination he stayed in Rome, in 1969 he was transferred to USS, in 1970 to Manila Province, in 1974 to GHA, in 1987 to USS, in 2011 to USW and in 2017 to USC for his retirement. He died in Techny on February 9, 2024.

Robert Fisher nació en Caruthersville, EE.UU., el 6 de febrero de 1937. Ingresó en la SVD en Techny, lugar de su futura formación religiosa, el 8 de septiembre de 1951. Valentin Höcherl was born on May 12, 1929 in Straubing, Germany. He joined the SVD in St. Wendel on March 1, 1955, and entered the novitiate on September 8 of that year. He made his first and final vows in St. Wendel on September 8, 1957 and 1963, respectively. His missionary assignment was to GES, later GER. He died in St. Wendel on February 6, 2024.

Ľudovít Feja was born on November 10, 1969 in Námestovo, Slovak Republic. He joined the SVD in Vidiná where he entered the novitiate on October 9, 1994. He made his first vows on September 8, 1995 in Nitra, where he continued his formation. On September 8, 2000, he made perpetual profession and on June 23, 2021, he was ordained a priest. His first missionary assignment was to Ecuador, where he served until 2005, when he was transferred back to Slovakia. In 2011 he received a new assignment to BOL until the end of 2013 when he returned to SVK. He died on February 4, 2024 in Mýtna, Slovakia.

Ľudovít Feja nació el 10 de noviembre de 1969 en Námestovo, República Eslovaca. Ingresó en la SVD en Vidiná, donde entró en el noviciado el 9 de octubre de 1994. Hizo sus primeros votos el 8 de septiembre de 1995 en Nitra, donde continuó su formación. El 8 de septiembre de 2000 hizo la profesión perpetua y el 23 de junio de 2021 fue ordenado sacerdote. Su primer destino misionero fue Ecuador, donde sirvió hasta 2005, momento en que fue trasladado de nuevo a Eslovaquia. En 2011 recibió una nueva destinación a BOL hasta finales de 2013, cuando regresó a SVK. Falleció el 4 de febrero de 2024 en Mýtna, Eslovaquia.

Joachim Zok was born on May 23, 1956, in Olesno Śl., Poland. On September 3, 1975, he entered the SVD in Pieniężno, the place of his future religious formation. Four days later he entered the novitiate, culminating two years later with first vows on September 8, 1977. In Pieniężno, he made his final profession on September 8, 1981, and was ordained a priest on April 18, 1982. He was sent to GHA as his first missionary assignment. From 1993-95 he studied dogmatic theology in Chicago. After returning to Ghana, he was assigned as Prefect to the Common Formation Center in Tamale. In 2001 he was transferred to POL. Between 2013-2017 he went to PNG where he was a professor of theology. In 2017 he returned to Poland because of his health problems. He died on February 2, 2024 in Olesno, Poland.

Joachim Zok nació el 23 de mayo de 1956 en Olesno Śl, Polonia. El 3 de septiembre de 1975 ingresó en la SVD en Pieniężno, lugar de su futura formación religiosa. Cuatro días después ingresó en el noviciado, culminando dos años más tarde con los primeros votos el 8 de septiembre de 1977. En Pieniężno hizo su profesión perpetua el 8 de septiembre de 1981 y fue ordenado sacerdote el 18 de abril de 1982. Fue enviado a la GHA como su primer destino misionero. De 1993 a 1995 estudió teología dogmática en Chicago. Tras regresar a Ghana, fue destinado como Prefecto al Common Formation Center en Tamale. En 2001 fue trasladado a la POL. Entre 2013-2017 fue a la PNG donde fue profesor de teología. En 2017 regresó a Polonia debido a sus problemas de salud. Falleció el 2 de febrero de 2024 en Olesno, Polonia.

Nicandro Vergara was born on March 15, 1946 in Vigan, Philippines. He joined the SVD in Quezon City on June 12, 1960. He was accepted into the novitiate in Quezon City on June 29, 1966 where he made his first vows two years later on the same day. He continued his formation in Tagaytay City where he made his final vows on June 3, 1973 and was ordained a priest on June 23, 1973. His missionary assignment was to Abra (later PHN) where he dedicated his whole life to the local mission. He died in San Fernando on February 1, 2024.

Nicandro Vergara nació el 15 de marzo de 1946 en Vigan, Filipinas. Ingresó en la SVD en Quezon City el 12 de junio de 1960. Fue aceptado al noviciado en Quezon City el 29 de junio de 1966 donde hizo sus primeros votos dos años más tarde el mismo día. Continuó su formación en Tagaytay City, donde hizo sus votos perpetuos el 3 de junio de 1973 y fue ordenado sacerdote el 23 de junio de 1973. Makoto Petro Nagayama was born on November 30, 1952 in Tamanoura, Japan. He joined the SVD in Nagoya, the place of his later formation and decisive events in his formation life. There he entered the novitiate on March 7, 1973, culminating with first vows on the same day in 1975. He made perpetual vows on March 7, 1979, and was ordained a priest on October 13 of that year. His first missionary assignment was in JPN, where he dedicated his life to the mission. He died in Nagasaki on January 29, 2024.

Makoto Petro Nagayama nació el 30 de noviembre de 1952 en Tamanoura, Japón. Ingresó en la SVD en Nagoya, lugar de su posterior formación y de acontecimientos decisivos en su proceso formativo. Allí ingresó en el noviciado el 7 de marzo de 1973, culminando con los primeros votos el mismo día de 1975. Emitió los votos perpetuos el 7 de marzo de 1979 y fue ordenado sacerdote el 13 de octubre de ese año. Su primer destino misionero fue JPN, donde dedicó su vida a la misión. Murió en Nagasaki el 29 de enero de 2024.

Josef Kuhn was born on February 27, 1926 in Endingen, Germany. He joined the SVD in November 1946 in St. Augustin, the place of his later formation. He entered the novitiate on November 23, 1946, and made his first vows on May 1, 1948. He made perpetual profession on March 7, 1952, and was ordained a priest in St. Augustine on September 24 of the same year. His first missionary assignment was to the Congo. In 1997 he was transferred to Belgium and in 1983 to Germany, where he worked for the rest of his life. He died on 26 January 2024 in St. Wendel.

Josef Kuhn nació el 27 de febrero de 1926 en Endingen, Alemania. Ingresó en la SVD en noviembre de 1946 en San Agustín, lugar de su futura formación. Entró en el noviciado el 23 de noviembre de 1946 e hizo sus primeros votos el 1 de mayo de 1948. Emitió la profesión perpetua el 7 de marzo de 1952 y fue ordenado sacerdote en San Agustín el 24 de septiembre del mismo año. Su primer destino misionero fue al Congo. En 1997 fue trasladado a Bélgica y en 1983 a Alemania, donde trabajó el resto de su vida. Falleció el 26 de enero de 2024 en San Wendel.

Jerzy Jagodziński was born in Sieradz, Poland, on March 4, 1955. He joined the SVD in Pieniężno, the place of his later formation, on September 5, 1974, where three days later began his novitiate, culminating in first vows on September 8, 1976. He made perpetual profession on the same day in 1980 and was ordained a priest on April 26, 1981 (Pieniężno). His first missionary assignment was in SIN, but due to visa problems he was transferred to PHN, where he worked until 1994, when he was transferred to URL. From 2006 to 2008 he worked in Poland and then in the Kaliningrad district (URL). He died on January 25, 2024 in Gvardeysk, Russia.

Jerzy Jagodziński nació en Sieradz, Polonia, el 4 de marzo de 1955. Jan van As was born on October 17, 1941 in Beuningen, the Netherlands. He joined the SVD in Teteringen in September 1967, where he began the novitiate on September 28, 1969, culminating with first vows on September 13, 1969. After Teteringen, he did his formation in Deurne, where he made his perpetual vows on September 8, 1973. He was ordained a priest in s'Hertogenbosch on September 3, 1983. His first assignment was to the Netherlands. In 2006 he was transferred to GEN, he stayed in Steyl. In 2023 he was transferred back to NEB. He died on January 24, 2024 in Teteringen.

Jan van As nació el 17 de octubre de 1941 en Beuningen, Holanda. John Maliekal was born on August 22, 1940 in Meladoor, India. He entered the SVD in Palda on June 21, 1957. He entered the novitiate in Khurda on May 31, 1960, and completed it two years later with the first vows. He did his formation in Poona, where he made his perpetual vows on May 30, 1968, and was ordained a priest on October 19 of the same year. His first missionary assignment was to India (Sambalpur, INE). He died in Jharsuguda on January 23, 2024.

John Maliekal nació el 22 de agosto de 1940 en Meladoor, India. Ingresó en la SVD en Palda el 21 de junio de 1957. Thomas Griffith was born in Chicago, USA on December 25, 1943. He joined the SVD in East Troy in September 1957. He entered the novitiate at Conesus on September 8, 1963, and culminated in the profession of first vows two years later. He continued his formation in Techny, where he made his final vows on September 8, 1969, and was ordained to the priesthood on December 20 of the same year. His missionary assignment was to the USA. He was a member of the USE, the USN and finally the USC. He died in Techny on January 10, 2024.

Thomas Griffith nació en Chicago, Estados Unidos, el 25 de diciembre de 1943. Ingresó en la SVD en East Troy en septiembre de 1957. Antonius Pain Ratu was born in Tanah Boleng, Indonesia, on January 2, 1929. He entered the SVD in Ledalero on April 2, 1951. This was the place of his entire formation. In the same year, on August 15, he entered the novitiate, which culminated one year later on the same day with the first vows. Also on August 15, but in 1957, he professed his final vows. He was ordained in Nita on January 15, 1958. His missionary assignment was to Timor. He was appointed General Counsellor and subsequently transferred to Rome in October 1979. On April 2, 1982 he was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Atambua, Indonesia, and on September 21 of the same year he was ordained a bishop. On February 2, 1984, he was appointed Bishop of Atambua, where he remained until his retirement in 2007. He died on January 6, 2024 in Atambua, Indonesia.

Antonius Pain Ratu nació en Tanah Boleng, Indonesia, el 2 de enero de 1929. Ingresó en la SVD en Ledalero el 2 de abril de 1951. En este lugar recibió toda su formación. El 2 de abril de 1982 fue nombrado obispo auxiliar de Atambua, Indonesia, y el 21 de septiembre del mismo año fue ordenado obispo. El 2 de febrero de 1984 fue nombrado obispo de Atambua, donde permaneció hasta su jubilación en 2007. Falleció el 6 de enero de 2024 en Atambua, Indonesia.
